Yudipota makes new revelations on walkout from Drag Race

Drag Race Philippines Season 3 contestant Yudipota revealed in a vlog posted Sunday new details on her walkout from the show, saying that she was stressed, felt outcast by her fellow contestants, and did not want to look “unpolished.”

“That was not the caliber of drag that I expect to show on the show,” Yudipota said in the 12-minute vlog. “There’s a lot of details that I don’t like and a lot of looks that were not complete. It just felt incomplete, yung run ko.”

She continued, “I didn’t wanna go on further looking like a mess. I think that’s the main reason. Ayoko talagang magmukhang messy in the show.”

Yudipota’s makeup and other items for drag were lost on her flight to film the show, which she said forced her to borrow makeup and brushes from fellow contestants, including Zymba Ding and Khianna.

Yudipota also expressed that she did not belong among castmates during the filming of Drag Race Philippines, saying she felt “underestimated.”

“I don’t wanna blame them but I don’t feel like I belonged in that circle. So it kinda got to me na parang, bitch you don’t even know me. Like how do you conclude such things about a bitch?” she said.

She added, “It was just tiring being underestimated. Parang ang liit ng tingin nila sa akin in a way. I know they’re gonna say that they don’t, but that’s what I felt.”

She also said she only received help from her partner during her preparation for the competition, which left her very stressed.

All these reasons, Yudipota said, prompted her to walk out from the competition in the middle of her lip sync battle against J Quinn in last week’s episode.

Yudipota said she had wanted to quit at the very start of the season, but kept pushing herself to continue as she remembered being encouraged by people who had long wanted her to compete on Drag Race Philippines.

“As corny as it sounds, but the fans really are the ones that really kept me going,” she said. “Like I don’t wanna keep going, but I was like, when are you gonna do it if not now? This is the time. We are here.”

At the end of her vlog, Yudipota said she did her best and was happy for her run on the show.
